    Country of Origin: Neroli originated in Southeast Asia, and was later brought to India and China. It then made its way into the Mediterranean, Abrabia and northern Africa. By the 1500's Spanish explorers brought Citrus aurantium to St. Augustine, Florida. We source our neroli from a grower here in the United States.

    Traditional Use: Neroli has a long history of use as a nervous system tonic. Neroli provides mental stimulation, while calming the senses. Its antibacterial properties make it a great addition to skincare preparations for acne. It is also used to rejuvenate the skin as it helps to fight free radicals.

    Properties: Anti-bacterial, antioxidant, aphrodisiac, hypnotic (sleep-inducing).

    Of Interest: The Citrus aurantium tree is very generous, yeilding 3 distinctly different essential oils. From peel of the fruit, we get bitter orange essential oil, from the leaves we get petitgrain, and from the flowers we get neroli. It takes approx. 100 lbs of orange blossoms to produce 1 pound of neroli essential oil.
