Chakras are spinning "wheels" or vortices of energy originating in the ancient Vedic tradition dating back as far as 1500-500 BCE. They are part of what is known in modern yoga as the "subtle body" and they influence our spiritual, emotional, and physical expression of ourselves. Each chakra is associated with specific aspects of our being.

The throat chakra relates to our communication, self-expression and creativity.

When the throat chakra is balanced, one has inner trust, inner reliance and easily expresses their ideas and thoughts. Someone with good balance will be expressive, eloquent, a great communicator and a good listener. Successful integration at this level gives one the ability to speak well, listen to others, to be creative and to recreate oneself.
