What are essential oils?
Essential oils are highly aromatic compounds obtained from a single plant species. They represent the most pure and true "essence" of the plant. Not all plants produce essential oils, and in the ones that do, the essential oil may be found in the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, or fruits. Essential oils are used in perfumery, cosmetics, and therapeutic applications for their aromatic and chemical properties.
Our Story
Hello! I'm Jessica, the owner and aromatherapist at Tree of India. Years ago, I realized that the fast pace of modern life often disconnects us—not just from diverse activities, social connections, and nourishing food, but also from our own inner selves. This disconnection can take a toll on our emotional and physical well-being. My plant-based creations are an invitation to reconnect—with yourself, with nature, and with the present moment. If you feel overwhelmed by the demands of a busy life, I invite you to explore our offerings. Take a few moments to pause, breathe deeply, and rediscover the peace, acceptance, and joy that come from simply being here, now.
How To Use Essential Oils
Essential oils are most often obtained from steam distillation or cold pressing (commonly used for citrus oils). The most effective and safe methods to obtain the benefits of essential oils are through inhalation and diluted topical application. Tree of India products are for external use only. Our organic suppliers are certified by Oregon Tilth, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating organic food and farming. As we locate more high-quality organic essential oils we will be adding them to our selection.
